Space Studies

Really existing rooms are examined by means of a geometric spatial representation (axes x, y, z). The space is dissolved by the simultaneous presence of several perspectives.

Double Access

2016, Acrylic, enamel, aluminium plates, two parts, changeable (4 positions)

With the additional possibility of transformation (each part of the picture can be rotated by 90°), the works refer to the fundamental relativity of (spatial) perception.

Concurrent Access A

2015, Acrylic, enamel, aluminium plates, quadrinomial, transformable.
Three possibilities of presentation.

Concurrent Access C

Three possibilities of presentation.

The process of developing the abstract images follows a strict conceptual principle. A 3D model of the room is used in a CAD program to define positions from which the perspective of various corner situations can be derived. These spatial axes, taken from these views, are transferred to the sculptures via several constructive control systems. The painterly intervention is greatly minimized, so that the images refer to graphic work. Black lines sit on a bright, smooth background, no brushstroke can be seen, the strength of the line alone is the result of free artistic decision.
